Tversted House is a unique home and workspace for a ceramic artist, designed specifically for its location. The beautiful interplay between structure, texture, and nature creates a harmonious setting for everyday life and artistic expression. The house consists of three separate building volumes - the "Lookout Tower," the "Living" space, and the "Ceramics Workshop" - intersecting and creating a play of light and shadow. While each building volume has its own function, they blend together to form a harmonious framework for daily life.
The house is constructed using pure, sustainable bio-based building materials with a long lifespan. The choice of building materials aims to create harmony with the surrounding nature. The façade is clad in charred wood, and the window frames are made of oak. The floors are covered with limestone, clay and oak planks, while the walls and ceilings are finished with various textures and shades of clay plaster.
The composition of the buildings is hierarchical and created according to the client's desires. The "Lookout Tower" top-level rises 5 meters above the ground, providing an unobstructed view of the nearby coastline and sea. The "Living" space embraces the main circulation and combines a large open area for living and socializing, with more enclosed spaces for focus and relaxation. The floor plan is flexible, allowing the house to easily adapt to new functions if required in the future.
